CHACO CANYON AND OTHER ARCHAEOLOGICAL ADVENTURES
Join Taos Land Trust Executive Director Ernie Atencio on an informal weekend trip to Chaco Canyon to visit some of the most beautiful, magnificent, and mysterious ancient ruins in North America. Ernie is an anthropologist, former archaeology instructor, former park ranger and Southwest vagabond, and loves to get out and share his knowledge of the land and history with others.
In addition to Chaco Canyon, Ernie can work with you to arrange custom trips to other Southwest archaeological destinations, including Cedar Mesa in southeast Utah, ancient rock art panels in the Grand Canyon, and many other remote sites.
Weekend Chaco Canyon trips include a full camp kitchen and utensils, all your food and drink, and interpretive guiding through thousand year-old Pueblo ruins and wild backcountry sites. Bring your own transportation and camping gear (Ernie can help arrange camping gear if necessary).
Two-night Chaco Canyon trip for up to four people, suggested $2,000 minimum donation for the entire group. Additional people, $400 each. Contact Ernie at the Taos Land Trust office to scheulde your adventure or discuss other outdoor trip ideas. |
